Our regular hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. We follow the Douglas County School calendar except for Summer. We will be open the whole summer, except for 2 weeks at the end of July through the beginning of the school year. Parents will be notified in April.
Before enrollment, we conduct a comprehensive pre-admission interview with the child’s parent(s) or guardian(s) to determine if our services meet the needs of both the child and the family. This interview is conducted in person. During this interview, we will:
Our tuition rate is $1,500 monthly. Tuition is due on the first Monday of each month, which is prepaid for the month. Payments can be made in cash or by check.
Children should not attend if they have a fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher, vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours, undiagnosed skin eruptions/rashes, severe abdominal pain, disruptive, persistent cough, or loss of taste and/or smell. Children must be symptom-free for 24 hours without medication before returning to care.
We use positive reinforcement and redirection to guide children's behavior. Our goal is to help children develop self-regulation and problem-solving skills. We never use physical punishment, verbal abuse, or withholding of food as forms of discipline.
We provide breakfast, lunch, and a snack. Please inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions. We will work with you to accommodate your child’s needs.
If a child has not been picked up after 10 minutes from the end of class, attempts will be made to contact you, and then the emergency contacts listed on the Enrollment Form will be notified. Late fees will be assessed on any day that a child remains in our care after 4:00 PM at the following rate: 4:00-4:10 - $1/minute, 4:11-4:59 - $20/minute. After 1 hour with no communication or pick up from you or an emergency contact, we will contact local police.
Minor injuries will be treated with basic first aid. For more serious injuries, we will contact parents immediately and seek emergency medical care if necessary. Our emergency evacuation plan is posted by the lunch area. We conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
If within a reasonable time frame, the student's and/or parents' needs are not mutually beneficial to Casita de Colores Daycare and the other students, we reserve the right to withdraw the student. Refunds will not be given. Failure to stay current with tuition may be a consideration for withdrawal. If parents would like to initiate a withdrawal of their student, a two-week written notice will be required. Tuition will be collected during that time even if the child is not in attendance.
We limit screen time to educational content and ensure it does not exceed 30 minutes per day. We believe in promoting active play and hands-on learning experiences.
Nap/rest time is scheduled from 1:30-2:30 pm. We provide a quiet and comfortable environment for children to rest. Each child has their own designated sleeping area with clean bedding.
Children have outdoor playtime daily, weather permitting. We believe outdoor play is essential for physical development and social interaction. Please provide appropriate clothing for outdoor activities.
Please inform us in writing of any allergies or special dietary needs your child may have. We will work with you to accommodate these needs and ensure your child's safety and well-being.
